In June of 1987, Jorge and Alissia Alfaro launched Ideal Driving School while simultaneously being new parents. Their company started as a modest enterprise with just one vehicle and a little office. View more.
After just two years in its first location, Ideal was forced to move since the company had outgrown its space. So, in 1991, they opened their first training center in what is now known as Fairview. Because there was more space, they were able to provide licensing packages not just for autos but also for trucks, buses, motorcycles, and cars.
In 1995, Ideal moved its headquarters to Union City, and it has remained in that location ever since. A site in Passaic first opened its doors in 1998, and in 2001, it was moved to its current location in Clifton. From then, Ideal expanded over the whole of Central New Jersey. The school first opened its doors in Fords in 2006, followed by its Woodbridge training center in 2007, and then its Elizabeth office in 2017.
As the firm continues to expand, the second generation of the Ideal family has become more involved in helping to shape the company’s future. For example, in 2019, Chris and Lauren, who are newlyweds, became members of Ideal to make New Jersey’s roads the safest in the whole country.
