In 2012, Iron Area Powerlifting & Performance (IA) was founded. It began life on the third floor of a century-old converted Wonder Bread Factory in Hoboken, New Jersey, with a 3,000-square-foot area. Unfortunately, in October 2016, they were forced to move due to a redevelopment proposal.

Iron Arena has moved three miles north of its previous home in North Bergen, New Jersey. They are more significant and better than ever, with a climate-controlled 5,000 square foot location (just above New Jersey Beer Co.) easily accessible by all major roads and public transit. IA is a USAPL Friendly Gym and a USA Powerlifting Club Team. Furthermore, they are New Jersey’s only USPA (United States Powerlifting Association) Certified Training Center.
Don’t be put off by the term “powerlifting” in their name. Reduced body fat, greater muscular mass, definition, increased strength, endurance, or an overall objective to optimize general fitness is attainable personal goals. However, regardless of your goal, squats, bench presses, and deadlifts are all essential parts of the fitness equation. As a result, they cater to anybody from beginner to expert who is serious about mastering perfect barbell lift execution.
Iron Arena understands that there is no such thing as a one-size-fits-all curriculum or technique. As a result, they use a range of training approaches supported by research and evidence-based practice/application based on years of personal experience. They care about your objectives, and they will work with you to develop a practical training approach that will help you reach them as quickly as possible.
Jason Manenkoff is the owner and operator of Iron Arena.
PROGRAMMING ONLINE
Those who cannot physically train at their facility but still wish to benefit from their knowledge may participate in online programs. In addition, they collaborate with lifters all around the world. Outside of the United States, they presently have lifters from Canada and England on their roster.
Individualized training regimens are created to meet the specific demands of their lifters. They use a range of training approaches supported by research and evidence-based practice/application gained through years of personal experience.
It’s vital to realize that online programming isn’t appropriate for inexperienced lifters (beginners). Instead, it’s designed for intermediate/advanced lifters who can efficiently execute the Squat, Bench Press, and Deadlift.
TRAINING MEMBERSHIP
Semi-Private Training (up to 4 participants per coach) occurs Monday through Thursday in pre-scheduled time windows from 5:00 pm to 8:30 pm. After an hour of coaching, the remaining of the program is done unattended. Training sessions might go up to 90 minutes in some instances. Semi-private training has two advantages. First, you get the same customized attention and programming as one-on-one training without the cookie-cutter approach you would get in a big group or group fitness class.
Those interested in semi-private training must first complete a one-on-one Powerlifting Technique Instruction session at Iron Arena, which will last two hours.
Monday through Friday, personal training (one-on-one) takes place throughout the morning to early afternoon hours. Private training sessions, like semi-private training, are instructed for an hour and then conducted unsupervised to balance the exercise. After the workout, you can remain as long as you like. Iron Arena provides free Wi-Fi, encouraging members to use it. They also offer two restrooms for individuals commuting to and from work, each with showers. Up next is Supreme K9 Dog Training Facility.
They offer monthly subscriptions instead of “sessions.” Training to accomplish a specific objective is a time-consuming procedure. Consistency is necessary. All Semi-Private/Personal Training members get unrestricted access to the facilities on their own time, with extra routines planned out for them and scheduled sessions.
